ABOUT THE ACTOR

Narelle Bickerdike

  • Age when joined LCTC - Under 20
  • Birthday: - 10th Feb 1970
  • Favourite play and why - I have two favourite plays - one in which I acted and the second which I directed. The first one was a play we took to Drama Festivals called Cathy's War. I played a young women dying of AIDS. I think it is my favourite because not only did I get to work with two of my favourite people, but also as it challenged me as an actor both mentally and physically. The other play I loved was Gaslight, which I was lucky enough to direct. Everyone involved in this production worked extremely hard. I think, (and it must be noted that I am biased) that the end result was certainly worth the effort we all put in. Actually I have three favourite plays - I loved The Goodbye Girl, because it was a musical and I got to sing. Better make that four favourite plays - I loved Who Goes Bare, maybe five - include Blithe Spirit in that list as well. Uh Oh, I can't make up my mind. I have loved all the plays I have been involved in. I guess I am lucky to have been given so many great roles and to be able to direct some really cool plays.
  • Talents and Hobbies - Impersonations of Elvis impersonating Brittany Spears.

  • Non Talents - Cooking, just ask anyone who has has the misfortune to eat anything I have made. I try really hard but I seem to have Attention Deficit Disorder when it comes to cooking.

  • Most Embarrassing Moment - I have so many to choose from. My friend Richard tells me that it would have to be when we had just put on some security guards at work to patrol after hours. A group of us were working late this particular evening. One of the new guards came upstairs stood in the room. He said "Loo". I then proceeded to give him direction on how to get to the men's toilet. He just stood there and looked at me, so I gave them to him again. He mumbled something and left. I found out later that he was actually introducing himself - his name was Lou. My friend Louise reckons it was the time I wandered all the way up the drive way (I work on a large manufacturing site)past maintenance & warehouse staff to my office with my skirt tucked up into my knickers. Peter reckons it was the time I was using my full shopping trolley as a skate board, lost control and ran into the backside of one of the grocery managers who was bent over looking at some of the shelves. He jumped up and yelled ooooooh! I ran out of the supermarket and haven't been back since.
  • Achievements - Owning a White Rhinestone Jumpsuit & coming second for two consecutive years in the LCTC Red Faces. I am putting that in as an achievment because Peter and I should have won. We were robbed!!
  • What makes you an unusual person? - I have a mirror ball hanging from the ceiling in my bedroom.
  • other Gossip?? - Nobody tells me any gossip. Nobody tells me anything in fact.
