The fun starts when George played by Andrew Nathan has a mid-life crisis and attempts to re-capture his youth with the help of Jane played by Narelle Bickerdike. Meanwhile, Nick played by Ron Bell decides to take up with George's wife Clare played by Penny Carr. Clare beleives Nick is George's psychiatrist. At the same time, Clare is consulting her friend Ruth played by Sylvia MacFarlane, a 'Dear Abbey' Columnist, about what she should do about her husband's apparent change of attitude to life. Ruth doesn't exactly offer her friend the right kind of advice. To top things off, Jane's father Jack played by Paul Wincin, decides to arrive on her doorstep unexpectedly, following several years of absence. The tension builds when Jane finds herself at George's home with his wife and everyone in the play acting under Ruth's encouragement.
