'November 1997'

Every Drama group has experienced it's fair share of what can go wrong on the night. Collapsing sets, missed cues, wrong sound effects and forgotten lines. Well the Logan City Theatre Company bravely let you behind the scenes to see all of the above at it's very best at the Butterbox Theatre. Absolutely nothing was set to go right on the night of nights. Chase Me Up farndale Avenue, S'il vous Plait!, Directed by Judith Sherry and beginning at 8pm, audience were greeted by Mrs Reece ( Penny Carr ), President of The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen's Guild Dramatic Society, who explained how one of her actors hadn't arrived and so announced Minnie ( Mary Bickerdike ) as the replacement.

But then Felicity, ( Michelle Sherry ), described by fellow members as nervous, well meaning, but incompetent actress arrived on the scene with her hoover, only to be shooed off by Thelma ( Johanne Castle ), the quick tempered prima donna. Thelma's husband Malcom is the lighting person and is having an affair with Joyce - the sound operator in the lighting box. Now, just when you thought things couldn't get much worse, we meet Gordon, the Stage Manager ( Peter Sherry ), who has also been pressed into a role which unfortunately requires him to wear a dress. To create such an unmitigated botch-up on stage requires great skill and timing and, believe me the Farndale Ladies have it sewn up.
